21/05/2013 21:38The Correlate understands that there were initially three 'current principal' applicants for the new [merged] college post (Stow,John Wheatley and North Glasgow)
One drops out, then another drops out leaving only one applicant!
However it appears that someone (who? the Regional Lead? SFC? or ?) made a decision that the post should be more widely advertised!
It appears that this was not the case for Glasgow Clyde College's principal designate - only one 'internal applicant' and successful too!
Now which of the above shows good governance - do either of them?
Was there some incentive not to apply?
Why not just assimilate the single candidate? They did for Glasgow Clyde! Hmm!
And its been done before too!
We think there needs to be much more public scrutiny of pre-mergers, mergers and the senior management appointment processes!
