Lecturers will take industrial action on timetables

COLLEGE lecturers are to strike today at one of Scotland's biggest colleges in a dispute over new working arrangements as part of an action that could see staff walking out for up to three days per week.

Ayrshire College Lecturers To Strike Over Contracts
EIS Monday 17th November, 2014

Lecturer members of the EIS Further Education Lecturers’ Association (EIS-FELA) will commence strike action tomorrow (Tuesday 18 November) over the imposition of changes to their contractual working arrangements.

Lecturers at the North Ayrshire Campus of the recently merged college, Ayrshire College, formerly employed at James Watt College (Kilwinning Campus), voted in favour of strike action by 86% (for) to 14% (against) in a statutory industrial action ballot organised by the EIS.

Further strikes, escalating to 3 days per week, are planned in coming weeks.
