Kelvin College VS Scheme

23/02/2014 00:00

Kelvin College's VS Scheme is published....

Subject: Voluntary Severance ___________________________________________________________________

As you are aware Glasgow Kelvin College commenced on 1st November 2013 from the merger of John Wheatley College, North Glasgow College and Stow College.

Voluntary Severance had been offered by the previous legacy colleges during 2013, however further savings are still required for Academic session 2014/15 in line with the Business Case.

The Scottish Funding Council will continue to support the scheme through the Transformation Fund grant and the College has available circa £600k for this purpose. Therefore I should wish to invite all staff to consider whether or not they might wish to consider the offer which is attached

The Voluntary Severance Scheme will be open from Monday 3rd February 2014 and expressions of interest for the Scheme are required by Friday 14th March 2014. An application form is attached to the Voluntary Severance Scheme.

Applications will be reviewed by Friday 28th March 2014 at the latest.

The College will consider all applications for voluntary severance on a case-by-case basis. You should note that submitting an application for VS does not mean that it will be accepted. Furthermore you should note that there will be no enhancement of either pension or superannuation provision by the College.

I would wish to inform you that the resources to support this initiative are limited and therefore a scheme of this nature is extremely unlikely to be available in the future.
