STOW College - Shamrock Street Building to close?

In discussing the possibility of closure one response was that STOW was the first FE College in Glasgow and surely, if it is, then it should be preserved!    Followed by ….  “it just shows how little feeling these [personal] empire builders think of FE and our industrial history”

It is with some irony that we note that Kelvin College has used STOW College heritage here

We are sure some financial case will be made but there will be no ‘evidenced educational rationale’; as with all College mergers across the sector.

We should recognise STOW’s excellent student heritage and the staff’s commitment and professionalism.

However it also has in time of incorporation been the subject of a history of issues regarding management, finance and governance…
