What's in a zero? Nothing?
29/11/2014 17:38After our take on Zero Hours contracts we are advised of yet another view of a zero!
It appears that one member of staff, a part-time worker, had an extra zero on his salary!
Nothing in that you might add but it appears it did add up to the member of staff being paid £11, 000 for his monthly endeavours instead of £1100 - nothing bad about having that zero on your contract! :o)
Apparently management were very expeditious in looking to get this zero terminated with immediate effect, and as pointed out far more quickly than when they recently made an error in under paying member of staff!
But take a wee minute!
Just consider this figure of £11,000 a month!
We are sure that our readers will draw a sharp intake of breath! £11,000 A MONTH!
But we would remind you that it is LESS than the principal is paid per month - on a £150,000 salary - it is £12,500 - a month!
And indeed it is LESS than a principal gets on a "garden leave" zero hours contract which works out at over £11600 - a month!
There will be some support staff where this could be their annual income!
Now – how does that Monty Python tune go? Start whistling!
